Back again for this year's festival thanks to Music Generation Offaly, our Try an Instrument workshops offer a rare, hands-on introduction to three iconic traditional instruments — uilleann pipes, harp, and bouzouki. Designed especially for young beginners, these small-group sessions give participants the chance to explore how each instrument works, learn basic techniques, and experience the joy of making music under the guidance of expert tutors. With limited places (4–6 per session depending on instrument) to ensure high-quality, focused instruction, these 30-minute workshops run between 10:30am and 12:00pm and provide a relaxed, engaging first step into the world of traditional Irish music.
